The Beginning

Turner Precision Engineering is an Australian family owned and operated business that started in Croydon in the UK in 1975, Ken Turner started out at Desmond brothers where he was employed as a draftsman and was also working in his own workshop on weekends, he later purchased the buildings from Desmond Brothers when they closed down.

TPE was one of the first engineering firms in the UK to invest in CNC machinery and while also implementing ISO 9002 enjoyed great success particularly in assisting the aviation industry implement a Kamban system for ease of parts storage and re-stocking.

Coming to Australia

In 2003 TPE relocated to Perth WA, which was great. However the arrival of an unexpected new member of the family changed things up a bit not just because 11 years had elapsed since the last Turner Baby, but because this one had Cohen Syndrome.

We needed to find a home/factory and school dynamic that was friendlier to our new family requirements and ultimately relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 2014.

We have been very fortunate that our core client base are nationally based and have supported us during our relocation, which we attribute to great customer relationships, services and products.

TPE has also built a loyal local client base in Kunda Park, as well as the wider South East QLD area's and is respected for both the quality of our workmanship and keen pricing.

How We Work

Programming of the CNC machines is through CAD/CAM, and sometimes direct programming.

We work hard to keep our material costs and workshop expenses as low as possible to be able to pass on these savings, believing we can be competitive against even overseas companies peddling cheap products.

TPE operates according to our ISO 9002 quality manual with all works produced to ISO standards, this means full traceability as well as a high standard of quality control.

CaNibble

The CaNibble

Ken is passionate about engineering, having spent a lifetime in the field which brings TPE a quality all of its own.

He has made and developed TPE's Nibbler range (formerly The Turner Nibbler, and now The Professional Nibbler in Australia, and CaNibble Professional Nibbler in its export incarnation) which is amazingly enjoying a second round of patents.

We are sometimes asked for replacement punches and dies for old Turner Nibblers almost 40 years old! A testament to the design, manufacture and quality of the product.
